Wife of Anambra State Governor Hosts Mothers Summit 2021

With the issue of gender-based violence still heavily prevalent in most societies, and with recorded cases rising sharply during the heat of the COVID-19 pandemic, wife of the governor of Anambra State, Dr (Mrs) Ebelechukwu Obiano has joined thousands of Anambra women at the 2021 Mothers’ Summit to seek ways to ending the social scourge.

 

Mothers’ Summit is an annual event organized by the Anambra State Ministry of Social Welfare, Children and Women Affairs in collaboration with the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE, a charity organization founded by the governor’s wife, to discuss pertinent issues affecting women and the girl child.

 

The topic for this year’s occasion is ” Fighting Gender-based Violence In A COVID-19 World”.

 

Governor’s wives from across Nigeria including the wife of the governor of Enugu State, Mrs Ugochi Ugwuanyi, chairperson of the Southern Governors’ Wives’ Forum and wife of the governor of Osun State, Mrs Kabayat Oyetola, wife of the governor of Bayelsa State, Dr Annah Duoye-Diri, and wife of the governor of Taraba State, Mrs Annah Darius-Ishaku, are present at the event.

Also in attendance the state Commissioner for women and children affairs Lady Ndidi Mezue with special appearance was made by the flag bearer of All Progressive Grand Alliance Prof. Charles Soludo and his Wife Mrs Nonye Soludo, they were accompanied by Sir Jude Emecheta Managing Director Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency and other party faithfuls.
