New Governing Board Constituted For Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University

A New Governing Council of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University has been constituted and Inaugurated

Governor Willie Obiano performed the swearing-in ceremony at the Executive Chambers, Government House, Awka.

They will serve a four year term.

Professor Anthony Ikefuna was appointed Chairman of the Board, while the members include Dr. Eric Okoye, Senator Victor Umeh, Chief Chidi Anyaegbu, Barrister Pat Igwebuike and Igwe Chris Oranu.

The Governor highlighted their terms of reference to include managing and superintending in matters concerning the university, promoting the interests, purposes and objectives of the institution, having the custody and control of all the property, among others.

Governor Obiano stated that they were very specially selected, asking them to bring their experience to bear, to make the University distinguished.

He called on them to assist in tackling the social vices among youths.

Professor Ikefuna thanked the Governor for his interest in education, assuring that they will work to promote the values, visions, goals and ambitions of the University through committed oversight duties.

He assured of working to maintain high academic standard and moral values in the institution.

In attendance were the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Greg Nwakoby, among others.
