Uli community in Ihiala local government area of Anambra state is today paying their final respect to their late traditional ruler Igwe Sir Damian Onyekaonwu (KSJI), Ezeudoka the 2nd of Uli Ancient Kingdom.

 

Igwe Onyekaonwu aged 74 and rose to the throne of Uli community in the year 1997 and was the traditional ruler of Uli for 23 years before his demise in the year 2020.

 

The burial ceremony commended with lying in state in his palace followed by a requiem mass at St Anthony’s Catholic Church Uli being presided over by the Catholic Bishop of Orlu Diocese

Most Reverend Augustine Ukwuoma.

 

Present at the ongoing burial mass are the members of the Order of Night of Saint John International, host of clergy, family members, ndi Nze na Ozo Uli, friends of the family and community among others.

 

May the soul of Igwe Onyekaonwu be granted eternal repose, Amen.
