The Governor of Anambra State Prof. Charles Soludo has shutdown all local government offices untill further notice.
This is following the burning down of Nnewi South Headquarters in Ukpor Last week and then Aguata Local Government Headquarters in Ekwulobia yesterday.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Anambra State Chapter of National Union of Local Government Employees which reads as follows.
This is to inform all local Government workers that there will be a temporal shut down of the 21 Local Government areas in Anambra state from now till wednesday 13th April 2022.
This is as a result of our workers and facilities being a target by unknown gun men. The state Executive council will be convened on Tuesday on emergency to take a decision if the shut down will be indefinitely. Pls ensure that all Local Government were closed down from henceforth till wednesday when SEC decision will be communicated to the workers.
