The Anambra State Judicial Panel of enquiry on police brutality and extra judicial killings have today summoned CSP James Nwafor (Rtd) who was former OC of the defunct Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) to appear before it.
The summon came up as a result of an appeal made by the council representing the illoanya family Bar Abdul Mahmud.
The Illoanya family submitted a petition on the illegal arrest,detention,torture and death of their son Chijioke Illoanya in the custody of SARS which was then headed by CSP James Nwafor.
CSP James Nwafor is to appear before the panel on the 8th of December 2020.We will bring you more details as the matter unfolds.
