APGA Retains Simple Majority At The Anambra House of Assembly As Speaker Losses His Seat

Information reaching us has it that the speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor lost his reelection bid to return to the House of Assembly to represent Ayamelum State Constituency.

He lost to his closest rival Hon. Udemezue Bernard Mmaduaburochukwu of PDP who scored 12,993 while he scored 11,457

The Ruling Party of the State All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA won 16 out of the 30 State Assembly seats and the breakdown are as follows;

1) Anaocha 2: APGA

2) Njikoka 2: APGA

3) Dunukofia: APGA

4) Aguata 1: APGA

5) Aguata 2: APGA

6) Awka South 2: APGA

7) Orumba south: APGA

8) Njikoka 1: APGA

9) Idemili South: APGA

10) Ekwusigo: APGA

11) Ihiala 1: APGA

12) Ihiala 2 : APGA

13) Awka North: APGA

14) Oyi: APGA

15) Anambra East: APGA

16) Anambra West: APGA

17) Onitsha South 1 : LP

18) Onitsha South 2: LP

19) Anaocha 1: LP

20) Onitsha North 2: LP

21) Awka South 1: LP

22) Orumba North: LP

23) Idemili North: LP

24) Onitsha North 1: PDP.

25) Ogbaru 1: PDP.

The ruling party lost 8 seats as it has 24 seats in the out going House of Assembly.
