The Governor of Anambra State Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has terminated the on going contract of Isuofia – Igbokwu Section of Nnobi Ekwulobia Federal High Way.
This took place while he was plying the road to return to his country home in Isuofia but notice that the road has been entirely blocked by the construction company who had been given the contract, the Governor show so much displeasure at the state of the road which has passed its delivery and even extra grace period of one month.
According to the Governor he said that the contract was supposed to be done by October but the company asked for an extra month which was obliged to them and still by December they are yet to be done, he further stated that he has instructed the commissioner for works to terminate the contract and that a new company has are set to take over the contract that the job was given to the company on the basis that they are an indigenous company and the government is trying to help grow Nigerian construction companies but they just disappointed.
The contractor tried to pacify the Governor by stating that the job had peculiarities due to flood and extended rainy season but the Governor wasn’t taken it and ordered them to pack their materials and leave the site that the government will be asking for a refund of money paid to them
