The Indigenous People of Biafra Yesterday 28th of July 2021 issued an ultimatum to the federal government of Nigeria to unconditionally release their leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who has been held in DSS Custody since he was brought back to Nigeria to face trial.

In a statement signed by Mazi Edoziem Chika who is the Head Directorate of State of IPOB  stated that the IPOB will not fail to Shutdown the Entire of the South East Every Monday if the Federal Government fails to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu 11 days from the date of the release of this statement.

The statement reads as follows;

The global community knows that self-determination is not a crime. The Nigerian government equally knows that self-determination does not constitute any known offence stipulated in their constitution. Therefore it does not have any case against the leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

In recognition of the above fact and truth, the Directorate of State of IPOB demands herewith an unconditional and immediate release of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, on or before the 8th day of August 2021, failing which we shall commence a weekly lockdown of Biafra land, starting from 9th August, 2021.

This statement is in reaction to the continuous detention of Nnamdi Kanu and failure of the DSS to provide him in court for trial at the stipulated time
