The angry youths of Igboukwu town in Aguata local government area of Anambra State have set the police station in the town ablaze in retaliation to the killing of a bike rider by a trigger happy police officer attached to the police station over what we gathered was a fracas that happened as a result of the bike rider’s refusal to give the police officer a bribe.
As at the time of filing in this report the commissioner of police in the state Mr Abang John has called for peace over the matter and has ordered as full scale investigation of the matter and detention of the police officer involved, this is adding to the large number of cases of trigger happy police officers killing innocent people in the state.
