by Admin

FC Ifeanyi Ubah which is the only Anambra Based Football Club in the Nigeria Premier Football League yesterday suffered a 3 – 0 away loss to Jigawa Golden Stars which finally sealed its face as it got relegated to the lower division of league football in Nigeria which is the Nigeria National League.

They finished 19th in the league table out of 20 teams accumulating on 36 points out of the possible 114 points from 38 games

The Anambra Based Club got promoted to the NPFL in 2014 after winning the Nigeria National League which gave rise to their 7 years stint in the NPFL and over this period won the Nigeria Federation Cup in 2016 after defeating Nassarawa United in a penalty shoot out.

They will now play the 2021/2022 season in the NNL and we hope they will get promoted back to the NPFL by the end of the coming season as this relegation is a huge blow to Anambra Football and sports in general.
