RE: DIVERSION OF STAFF ALLOWANCES INTO PRIVATE POCKETS IN ANAMBRA STATE FIRE SERVICE

Following the online publication of Anambra People Magazine (anambrapeople.com.ng) on 2nd of July, 2022, captioned ‘Diversion of staff allowances into private pocket in Anambra Fire Service, we the mentioned 38 staff of Anambra Fire Service employed to other Ministries and redeployed to serve as Firefighters wish to respond and make clear the true position of activities within the Anambra State Fire Service for the sake of those who might have been deceived, confused or maligned by such an uninformed, unverified and demented news.

For the sake of clarity, we wish to state categorically;

1. That we reject in clear terms the contents of the news which in the least is unverified, uninformed, deceitful and meant to mar the peace the people of Anambra State are enjoying.
2. That we in no way employed the services of those malicious bloggers who are merely out to tarnish the image of the Anambra State Government, the Anambra State Civil Service Commission, the Office of the Head of Service, the Ministry of Power and Water Resources, Anambra State Fire Service and the Fire Chief, Engr. Dr. Martin Agbili.

3. That we are in no way aggrieved over the delay in payment of hazard allowance, as we are aware of the necessary steps already taken by the above mentioned authorities to ensure that all entitlements due to firemen are approved through the proper channel and disbursed accordingly.

However, we also wish to use this medium to praise our hardworking Mr. Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, who has clearly stated his plans for the Anambra State Fire Service in his promise to achieve his aims of protecting lives and properties in State.

We also wish to thank the Anambra State Head of Service, Mr. Commissioner of Power and Water Resources and the Fire Chief of Anambra State Fire Service for the perfect way they have been managing the affairs and welfare of Civil Servants under their care and especially firemen.

In conclusion, we advise the general public to please disregard the frivolous and unverified news which only seeks to gain the attention of the enemies of the State.
