Buhari Opposed To Emergency Rule In Anambra Says Governor Obiano

Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has disclosed that President Buhari is opposed to the unguarded statement by the AGF and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami where he threatened that FG may declare a state of emergency in Anambra State.

Obiano disclosed this to State House Correspondents after a meeting with Buhari in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, today, October 7, 2021.

Gov Obiano wondered why the AGF had not contemplated the imposition of emergency rule in northern States where bandits had been killing Nigerians and kidnapping school children in numbers.

“That’s a very unfortunate comment by the Attorney-General, Malami”, he said. “I mentioned it to the President and he assured me that such thought never crossed his mind because he knows that Anambra has been the safest state in Nigeria for seven years plus”.

The President said he would call the Attorney General to explain himself over the statement, insisting that apart from the recent security crisis, Anambra has been the most peaceful State in the south east.
