Anambra State House of Assembly Affairms the Constitution of Local Governments Transition Committee, Confirms Members of the Transition Committees of Various Local Governments
Arising from the electoral college formed by the members of the Anambra State House of Assembly in their plenary session of today, Friday 29th July 2022, the state legislature affirmed the constitution of the transition committees of the twenty one local government councils in Anambra State.
At the plenary session also, the electoral college considered in ernest and confirmed the nominees of Mr Governor as chairmen and members of the transition committees of the various local government councils in Anambra State for a period of three months, as it is stipulated in the local government law of Anambra State, 1999 (as amended).
While confirming the chairmen and those to work with them as councilors of various political wards in the state, the members of the state house of assembly charged them to keep to the true tenets of public service rendition and ensure that they work in consonance with the transformation agenda of Mr Governor geared towards making Anambra a more livable and prosperous homeland.
The confirmed transition committee chairmen of the various local government councils are:
Aguata: Prince Chibuike Ofobuike
Anambra East: Dr. Anselem Onuorah
Anambra West: Mr. Felix Ikechi
Anaocha: Mr. Gerald Ikechukwu Ozo
Awka North: Mr. Emmanuel Ucheze
Awka South: Mr. Thankgod Aniago
Ayamelum: Hon. Livinus Onyenwe
Dunukofia: Mr. Augustine Onyemaobi Nonyelum
Ekwusigo: Mr. James Chimezie Obi
Idemili North: Mr. Chucks Brown Igboanua
Idemili South: Mrs. Immaculata Amaka Obi
Ihiala: Mr. Kingsley Obi
Njikoka: Mr. Clems Aguiyi
Nnewi North: Mr. Mbazuluike Iloka
Nnewi South: Mr. Ikenna Oluchukwu Aniagbaoso
Onitsha North: Mr. Charles Ozoma
Onitsha South: Mr. Emeka Orji
Orumba North: Engr. Ogochukwu Ekwueme

Some of the government’s functionaries who were present at the confirmation were: the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government, Hon. Nwabunwanne; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Obiogbolu; the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Services ABS, Chief Chido Obidiegwu amongst others.
