Anambra State Government Announces Enforcement On Bus and Keke Drivers In The State

by Admin

Anambra State Government has announced the enforcement on the monthly tax that it had earlier announced that commercial bus drivers, tricycle operators (Keke) and motorcycle riders (okada) are mandated to pay.

This announcement was made through a public notice by the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service which was signed by Mrs Sylvia Tochukwu-Ngige who is the Head Taxpayer Education and Enlightenment Team and it reads as follows;

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

The Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AiRS) wishes to inform the citizens of Anambra State that from Tuesday next week, September 13, 2022, to be precise, there will be massive enforcement of Tax compliance in Anambra State.

By this announcement, all Commercial Motorcycle riders (Okada), Tricycle operators (Keke) and Bus drivers operating in Anambra State should go and get enumerated and pay the levies as agreed by their union and the Anambra State government.

Those yet to pay their taxes and levies to Anambra State Government are by this announcement advised to do so, immediately. Refusal to pay is against the law.

Remember, don’t pay cash to anybody as the Anambra State government has not authorized anyone to collect taxes and levies for the government. Anyone doing that is looking for serious trouble. Pay your taxes and levies to the government through the Bank or POS, using your Anambra State Identity Number (ASIN).

This message is from Anambra State Internal Revenue Service.
