Anambra State Chapter of Nigeria Bar Association has thrown its weight behind the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria in Anambra State on its industrial action as regards the Financial Autonomy of the judicial system in the state.

The Association has given the Governor of the State a 7day ultimatum to implement the Financial Autonomy of the Judiciary in the state or face mass action, this was contained in a statement issued by the seven branches of NBA in the state, while speaking on behalf of the Association Bar, Kingsley Awuka said that this Autonomy is contained in the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and is clear and unambiguous stating the autonomy of the 3 arms of Government and the executive of 36 states have knowingly refused to implement this.

The Association urged the Governor to start the implementation of the Financial Autonomy or if the strike Action continues for 7 more days after the 16th of April, they will have no choice but to join forces with JUSUN to drive home their demands.
