Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State earlier today, visited the Nkwo Ogbe market Ihiala that was razed down by fire in the early afternoon hours of yesterday Sunday 17th October, 2021 to get the first hand /on the spot assessment of the level of damage caused by the fire incident.
Governor Obiano during the visit constituted a Special Committee to be headed by Mrs Joy Ulasi.
The committee according to the Governor would find out the remote cause of the incident and make recommendations to the government within a month.
The Governor while commiserating with the the victims of the fire incident, promised that a fire truck would be stationed at the market to forestall future occurrence.
The Governor was accompanied to the scene by the Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly and member representing Ihiala one constituency, Rt. Hon Paschal Agbodike, PhD, Commissioner for Information, C-Don Adinuba, Commissioner for Trade& Commerce, Hon. (Sir) Uchenna Okafor, Health Commissioner, Dr. Vincent Okpala.
The state Fire Chief, Engr. Martins Agbili and the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Echeng Eworo, among others were on ground to receive the governor and his entourage.
